ICA Abu Dhabi 2023 Archives Hackathon


Welcome to the ICA Congress Abu Dhabi 2023 Archives Hackathon! We are excited to invite high school and university students to participate in this innovative event. With a $20,000 prize for the winning university team and a $10,000 prize for the winning high school team, this is an opportunity not to be missed. The ICA Congress Hackathon is open to all schools and universities in the UAE only.

Led by leading archiving and records management experts and mentors, the Archives Hackathon will offer interesting archiving challenges for the teams to take on with the mentorship and support of experts in the field, allowing them to come up with innovative and out of the box solutions.

Taking place over three days at the ICA Congress Abu Dhabi 2023 the hackathon will provide a great opportunity for participants to learn, analyse, and derive actionable and impactful knowledge related solutions for the world of archiving.

JUDGING

The judging criteria are based on business potential, relevance to theme, practicality and technical complexity. There will be a fair scoring system in place that is to be finalised by the team of judges / mentors.

KEY DATES AND VENUE

We recommend universities and high schools to sign up soon! The key dates are October 10-12, 2023 at a fully-equipped venue with team work area, presentation/mentoring area and coffee stations.

As a requirement for the hackathon, teams must meet the criteria of having a minimum of five members, with four members being students and one member being a faculty member.
